Terms, Conditions, and Policies

Terms, conditions, and policies serve as a contract between a customer and Honeysuckle Bakeri. By choosing to do business with Honeysuckle Bakeri, customers agree to the terms, conditions, and policies listed on this page. Terms, conditions, and policies are subject to change without notice.

Do not worry, terms, conditions, and policies are not scary! They are in place to ensure complete transparency between us when we conduct business together.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at contact@honeysucklebakeri.com. You can also join our email list to ensure you stay up to date with any changes made.

Cottage Bakry

Honeysuckle Bakeri items are produced and processed in a home kitchen that is not inspected by the health department. Our kitchen has ingredients that may include milk, eggs, wheat, soybean (soy), peanuts, and/or tree nuts. Fish, sesame seeds, and shellfish are prepared in the same kitchen.

Allergens

Baked goods are often made with ingredients that can be known allergens. While some products may accommodate allergy sensitivities, they will be prepared in a kitchen where products are made using shared equipment and may come into contact with allergens, including but not limited to: milk, eggs, wheat, soybean (soy), peanuts, and/or tree nuts. Fish, sesame seeds, and shellfish are prepared in the same kitchen.

It is your responsibility to inform your guests of this allergy information. Honeysuckle Bakeri will not be held liable for any allergic reaction resulting from the consumption of any products.

If you have food allergies, it is advised that you do not consume our products.

Design and Consultation

Honesuckle Bakeri offers an existing portfolio of custom-decorated sugar cookie designs that customers can select from and customize. We also offer consultation services to design a custom-decorated cookie set that is not currently in our portfolio. Honeysuckle Bakeri offers no-obligation consultations and will follow the customer’s request closely to obtain the desired designs.

        Artistic License

All images sent for reference help Honeysuckle Bakeri execute a custom design for you and your event. Our custom-decorated sugar cookies will be an interpretation of the item and not an exact replica.

While Honeysuckle Bakeri makes every effort to provide exactly the flavor, filling, decoration, size, color, shape, and design discussed during consultations, creating cake is an art form and may be subject to variations.

Custom-decorated sugar cookies are a work of art and may be subject to slight variations by the creators. Please keep in mind that no two pieces of art made by people are ever exactly alike.

Copyright images (think Star Wars and Peppa Pig) are protected, and Honeysuckle Bakeri will not be able to replicate them. Honesuckle Bakeri will make every attempt to provide a design as similar as possible to the requested design.

Honeysuckle Bakeri holds the final say in the decision regarding the creation of our products.

        Color matching

Pictures are worth a thousand words, and yet, colors show up differently depending on the lighting and which screen you are viewing the graphic on.

Color matching is not a precise science, and different sugar substrates take color differently. Honeysuckle Bakeri does its best to match any color request for icing.  A perfect color match is not always possible, as not all colors are achievable with food dyes.

Honeysuckle Bakeri aims to give you a close color match to your request. The final product may be subject to slight variations.

Last minute orders

Honeysuckle Bakeri may not always be able to accommodate orders placed within two weeks of the requested pick-up date. However, there may be occasions when we can accommodate. If we are able to fit your rush order, a $25 rush fee will be added to the order. The entire payment for last-minute orders is to be collected at the time the order is placed. All last-minute orders are final.

PRicing and Quotes

Pricing is subject to change as they are often dictated by ingredient and supply costs. Honeysuckle Bakeri is committed to providing exceptional products that are handcrafted, from scratch, utilizing quality ingredients.

Quotes in all forms—in the body of an email, PDF document, text, or instant message—are valid for 7 days unless otherwise stated in the communication where the quote was provided.

Communications

Please allow us 24 – 48 hours to respond to your communications, as we may be concentrating on putting on the detailed touches to another customer’s order and are covered in icing.

To ensure we meet our high-quality standards, Honeysuckle Bakeri asks the customer to respond to our communications within 24 – 48 hours. Otherwise, Honeysuckle Bakeri reserves the right to take creative liberties and make a decision to the best of our ability. If Honeysuckle Bakeri is put in the position of having to make that executive decision, the customer forfeits the right to receive a refund based on the decision Honeysuckle Bakeri had to make for the customer.

Payments and Deposits

        Depost / Retainer Fee

A 50% non-refundable and non-transferable deposit and retainer fee is required for all custom orders—decorated sugar cookies, special macaron flavors, and any other customizable requests—and orders $50 and over.

The initial deposit and retainer fee cannot be applied as store credit or to a postponed date—with the exception of *natural disasters/acts of God. When Honeysuckle Bakeri accepts your order, we begin the process of declining other orders, and as we get closer to your event date, the chances of re-bookings are greatly reduced.

The fee helps cover the cost of ingredients and materials and reserves the time to handcraft, from scratch, the baked good for the requested order pick-up/delivery date.

If the deposit is not received two weeks before the desired order pick-up/delivery date, Honeysuckle Bakeri reserves the right to decline the order.

The deposit and retainer fee is due at the time of order placement and is applied to the total cost. Preparation for the order—planning, designing, ordering supplies—will not begin until the deposit and retainer fee is received.

*Please refer to the section Natural Disasters/Acts of God

        Full Payment Due

The full payment is due at the time of order pick-up and can be paid via Venmo, cash, or credit card. Payments made by check must be submitted 3 business days before order pick-up.

If you have secured delivery service for your order, the full payment is due by 6 p.m. Central Time the day before the scheduled delivery date.  If payment is not remitted by 6 p.m. the day before delivery is scheduled, the delivery will be canceled. The customer will need to contact Honeysuckle Bakeri to make arrangements to schedule a time to pick up the order—subject to the change in pick-up time policy.

Products will be transferred to the customer once the product has been paid for in full. Honeysuckle Bakeri’s baked goods are made from scratch, without preservatives, and are best consumed when fresh. If the complete payment for the order has not been received within 48 hours, the order will be canceled and subject to the cancellation policy.

        Methods Of Payment Acceptd

Honeysuckle Bakeri accepts Venmo, cash, credit cards, and checks. Credit card payments can be made in person or online. Final payments made by check must be submitted three business days before the scheduled pick-up or delivery date.

        Non Payments

Honeysuckle Bakeri will only complete an order if paid for in full at pick-up or by 6 p.m. Central the day before scheduled pick-up—including any additional fees that may be incurred, including but not limited to: late fee, inconvenience fee, rush fee, and delivery fee.

If the invoice is not paid in full—including any incurred fees or additional charges—by the due date and time, the customer forfeits their order, resulting in no refund, future credit, or date change will be permitted under any circumstances.

Honeysuckle Bakeri accepts no responsibility for any loss caused by non-payment.

Order Pick-up / Delivery

        ORder Pick-Up

Order pick-ups will be at our home bakery based in Denham Springs, LA. Address will be provided once the deposit has been received, and reminders will be sent 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up date. Pick-up date and time will be scheduled at the time the order is placed.

Please be on time to collect the order. There is a 15-minute window to pick up the order. Unfortunately, Honeysuckle Bakeri cannot guarantee that we will remain at the pick-up location outside the collection window. Therefore, a fee of $30 will be applied every fifteen minutes beyond the collection window time. Late fees must be paid to collect the order.

        Order Delivery

If you decide to place a delivery order, and it is available in your area on your date, a small $10 delivery fee will be added to the final bill. Delivery date, time, address, and individual set to receive the baked goods should be arranged at the time the order is placed or as soon as possible afterwards—no less than one week before the scheduled delivery date.

Please be on time, at the identified location to collect the order.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the correct delivery information is provided, and Honeysuckle Bakeri is aware of the name of the individual who will be taking ownership of the delivered goods.

If delivery is to a venue, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the venue is open and available to receive goods at the arranged time. If no one is available to receive the order at the agreed delivery time, the order will be returned to Honeysuckle Bakeri, and the customer will need to arrange an alternative time to pick up the delivery from the home bakery location in Denham Springs, LA, for which a $35 inconvenience fee will be added to the delivery fee and need to be paid before goods can be received. Honeysuckle Bakeri accepts no responsibility for any loss or consequential loss incurred by the customer as a result.

Honeysuckle Bakeri is not responsible for any delay or inability to deliver based on accidents, natural disasters, transportation issues, inclement weather, illness, death, labor troubles, delay of supplies, disputes, strikes, or any other circumstance beyond Honeysuckle Bakeri’s control.

In the case of an unavoidable situation, such as a car accident or poor road conditions during delivery, Honeysuckle Bakeri cannot be held liable for more than the cost of the order.

Due to the nature of our business and our quality and freshness assurance, we will dispose of any items that have not been picked up within 48 hours after the specified collection time has passed.

         After Pick-up or accepted delivery

Once the order departs Honeysuckle Bakeri or is accepted at the point of delivery, the customer waives any rights to a refund based on the product’s style, design, or visual appearance(s). A signature is required at collection, confirming the order has been received in good condition and as specified. Honeysuckle Bakeri is not liable for any damage sustained to any product(s) once it has been collected and signed for.

         Change in pick-up time

If the customer cannot make the scheduled collection time, please call to reschedule. If there is no call, and arrives past the 15-minute pick-up window, a late fee of $30 will be applied and needs to be paid before the order can be received.

         No Show

Honeysuckle Bakeri’s products are made from scratch, without preservatives and are best enjoyed when fresh. Any order not picked up and without the attempt to reschedule the agreed-upon pick-up time forfeits the order, and no refund, future credit, or date change will be permitted. Forfeited order(s) may be donated or resold at the discretion of Honeysuckle Bakeri.

Order revisions

We understand things change, and you may need to make additions, reduce your order, or even make edits to the design or specific packaging requests.

Honeysuckle Bakeri will do our best to accommodate any changes made 2 weeks—14 days—before the order pick-up date. Any changes requested within 2 weeks of the order due date are not guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges.

Any revisions to the order must be submitted in writing and emailed to contact@honeysucklebakeri.com. Communications about any change to the order via direct message on social platforms, calls, or text will not be honored.

Order changes can only be made by the initial person who placed the order.

Reschedule / postpone

If for any reason, there needs to be a revision to the occasion date, Honeysuckle Bakeri will try our best to accommodate these changes at no additional cost, provided sufficient notice—2 weeks / 10-14 days before the pick-up date—and the new occasion date is available.

While Honeysuckle Bakeri will do our best to accommodate your order, we CANNOT GUARANTEE the availability. The deposit will not be refunded if our bakery is fully booked for your new occasion date.

Cancellation

Any cancellation must be made in writing and emailed to Contact@HoneysuckleBakeri.com no less than one week before the agreed upon pick-up or delivery date. Communications via direct message on social platforms, calls, or text will not be honored.

If full payment has been made and the cancellation is requested after supplies have been ordered, a partial refund minus the deposit/retainer fee and the cost of supplies will be issued in the form of store credit ONLY.

If an order is cancelled due to dire circumstances, the payments made may be transferred to a different order within 30 days minus any perishable items that have already been purchased or made. This is at the full discretion of Honeysuckle Bakeri.

If Honeysuckle Bakeri needs to cancel your order, we will REFUND any booking fees paid. Reasons Honeysuckle Bakeri may need to cancel include, but are not limited to: death, injury, illness (due to health and safety regulations), severe medical conditions, or an accident of the owner or any immediate family member.

Refunds

Deposit and retainer fees are non-refundable. If a refund is granted, it will be in the form of Store Credit ONLY.

Due to our full schedule and attention to detail, Honeysuckle Bakeri spends many hours planning and preparing before even beginning on your baked goods. Because of this, Honeysuckle Bakeri will only grant refunds in the form of store credit for very specific circumstances.

  •  Product does not meet the Honeysuckle Bakeri standard
  • Product is not what was agreed upon per our contract
  • Natural disaster / Act of God

If a refund is granted, the customer CANNOT keep the baked goods. The only way a refund is permitted is if the customer refuses to “accept” the baked goods.

Honeysuckle Bakeri will NOT negotiate a partial refund if the customer decides to keep the baked goods. This is a “take it or leave it” policy. Honeysuckle Bakeri is not responsible for any expenses incurred for replacing our baked goods.

Product Quality

Flavor and texture are subjective. Honeysuckle Bakeri bakes a quality control piece out of every batch to ensure the highest quality. Quality determination is solely at the discretion of Honeysuckle Bakeri.

Our baked goods are baked from scratch with all-natural ingredients. Keep in mind, variety in temperature and humidity may impact the flavor and overall design, or texture to some degree. Please understand that Honeysuckle Bakeri cannot control changes in texture, color, or shape due to weather conditions.

Natural Disasters / Acts of God

Performance of this agreement is contingent upon the ability of Honeysuckle Bakeri to complete this agreement when delay or default is caused by conditions beyond its control, including but not limited to: Acts of God, Government restrictions, war, terrorism, criminal act, insurrection, and/or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the company.

Store credit will be issued—and good for one year—for any rescheduling needs due to natural disasters and acts of God.
